Musical Meditation for Lent Fundraiser

Last Saturday we attended a fundraiser event for FRRME at St Paul’s Church, Rusthall. The event was organised by one of our wonderful supporters, Eva Cohn. Eva has been a tireless supporter of FRRME for many years, arranging fundraising events each year.

The evening featured beautiful singing from Conor, a local chorister, and Taize music by the St James’ Singers. The musical meditation explored themes such as the peace of Christ, and included readings from Canon Andrew White’s books, as well as presentations by FRRME staff.

The event was a great success raising £550 to support the people of St George’s. We would like to thank all those who were involved in the event and for the support that was given for FRRME’s work – it was an encouraging evening.

If you have any ideas for a fundraising event that you would like to organise, then please get in touch we would love to offer you our support. You can contact us at office@frrme.org.

Support Karla’s Run for Peace

runforpeaceAs a 49 year old mother of four, I have a keen interest in promoting a safe future for the next generation. I endorse FRMME’s role in mediating summits between top influential leaders of differing religious backgrounds, bringing them together in order to establish common ground, promote tolerance, and decrease acts of violence against each other. Even if the only thing shared is that G-d is the Creator of all Mankind, this ascribes value to every person’s life, no matter what one believes.

Unless you have run a few miles in someone else’s shoes it’s hard to identify with what they are going through, and easier to dislike or disregard them. However once you have run with them and shared some of life with them you can better identify with each other. It becomes easier to extend a hand of mercy over one of wrath. I have seen FRMME’s success in these efforts and its ability to improve everyone’s quality of life.

I am running Boston this year in order to generate awareness and a wider partner network working together for religious tolerance. It is my hope that the events of last year’s race will not be re-visited in the future. Would you prayerfully consider sponsoring my run in support of FRMME’s efforts to diminish religious violence?

Any role you can play is greatly appreciated.

If you would like to donate you can do so through one of the options of listed on our Donate page, either through the regular donations or single donation tab. Remember to leave a comment that you are donating in support of Karla. Or if you have ideas for your own event to raise money for FRRME then contact us at office@frrme.org.
